Modern Office Furniture: Transforming the Way We Look and Work
Berman Kappler Properties has acquired over 2,000,000 square feet of office and retail properties in the Virginia area since its inception. This real estate development company maintains market-focused investment as their primary objective, with an eye to restoration, property enhancement, and amazing aesthetics. Their proven strategy of buying and adding value has turned around many properties through creative financing, aggressive leasing, and management efficiency.
When Berman Kappler Properties contacted 90 Degree Office Concepts, they were looking for office furniture to urbanize the look and feel of their Bookbinding Building, which is over a hundred years old. Berman felt that merging a modern-style conference room with a feeling of tradition and elegance would enhance their company image and transition the look of the property.
While looking at all of our conference table selections, Berman referred to himself as a “kid in a candy store.”
“When we got the focus narrowed down to one table, it was the Cleveland modern conference table,” said Bernie at 90 Degree. “We took that style and added an Anegre exotic wood veneer to transform the look and feel to modern, yet sophisticated.”
The black ebonized finish on the table toe-kick, together with the edging on the sub-top, really brings out the wood Anegre veneer, which is naturally dynamic to this configuration.
From there, Berman wanted a supporting piece to go in the conference room that was less dynamic in presence and cost. 90 Degree designed a console table with vertical tapered legs to pick up on the general style, overlaid with Anegre laminate to match the edge of the sub-top. The primary top was done in Maple wood veneer, and ebonized to work with the black on the conference table.
Following the same general idea with the console table, the design idea progressed to the reception area. Berman’s reception desk of choice was the Cambridge modern reception desk. He finally settled upon a gray charcoal leather specialty laminate and a pale Folkstone face panel. When he first laid eyes on the finished product, Berman’s comment was: “WOW!!!!!! Stunning!!!”
